Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology is Brown University’s teaching and research museum. Its name dates back to the private Native American collections of industrialist Rudolf F. Haffenreffer, donated to Brown in 1955. The museum operates a gallery in Manning Hall on campus and a separate Collections Research Center in Bristol, holding roughly one million items across global regions—strongest in Native North American artifacts but including significant material from Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Arctic.
