Amtrak Station Park is a small downtown green space beside Providence Station in the Capitol Center area. Tucked between streets, rail infrastructure, and nearby office buildings, it offers a simple place to sit, pause, or pass through near one of the city’s main transportation hubs. Its setting gives it a distinctly urban character, and recent city beautification plans have included new flowers, shrubs, trees, signage, and restoration work to improve the space.

Congratulations to Providence’s new hometown team, @blackstarsofghana_ , on their win last night!
It was a beautiful night for the beautiful game.
Have you been to a game at the PVD Fan Zone yet? Grab the flag of your favorite team and get down there, the vibes are so good!

Tucked into the heart of downtown, Abbott Park is a quiet reminder of where the city began 🌿
Dating back to the 18th century, Providence’s oldest public park offers a small but meaningful place to pause—surrounded by the rhythm of the city, yet somehow set apart. Whether you’re passing through or taking a moment to sit, it’s a little piece of history still woven into everyday life.

Congrats to @wrwc_ri on the completion of the bike path extension — now you can bike all the way from Johnston to Downtown Providence (under a secret passageway though the mall!) on protected bike lanes.
Along the way you’ll find public art, a storm water garden, and a kayak launch.
We loved learning more of the history of the area, including a century-old planned but unrealized fruit market right where @farmfreshri now stands, and the factories that produced rubber molds for the jewelry industry you might still find lying at the bottom of the river!
A great day to celebrate Providence’s past, present and future.
This is what a King Tide looks like on the Riverwalk!
@providenceplanning has developed the Riverwalk Resilience Project to plan for a future when this flooding happens more than a few times a year.
We are excited to learn more about the project at the @growsmartri summit next week.
