You Are Exactly Where You Need To Be

Sagie (Say-gee) is a Rhode Island painter, muralist and mixed media artist. She uses vivid, saturated colors, sweeping lines and geometric pattern repetitions in her murals, which can be seen on numerous walls in Providence, Boston, Salem and Bridgewater, MA. Throughout her public art and studio practice, Sagie incorporates high contrast in her compositions to represent the good and bad in life and she harnesses her personal experiences, both positive and negative, into inspiration for her work. Sagie often explores themes of self reflection, identity, love and balance, but approaches each piece uniquely. The site’s specificity, the present moment, her emotions and seminal figures that have impacted her life all contribute to her works’ content and aesthetic

Of the work, Sagie writes:

The rhythmic movement of line and color is driven by my inner world. Creating each line is liberating and fills me with pleasure. My physical environment inspires me to explore where that movement can flow. In the midst of the process, I am reminded to let go of what is out of my control. Challenges are inevitable and not everything will move as planned. Every line is a chance to reflect and start again.

As you travel up or down, I invite you to celebrate your own journey, to get lost in it, and trust you will find your way. Take a moment to appreciate the present. Whether you’re stuck or fueled, you are exactly where you need to be.

The project is a continuation of The Avenue Concept’s partnership with Point225, which encompasses work inside and outside the campus including Myles Dumas’ BioFuture in the lobby, JIMBO’s custom tryptic in the second floor elevator lobby, Steven Siegel’s former plaza sculpture like a buoy, like a barrel and the regularly rotating murals on One Ship Street.
