The City of Providence welcomes 2026 with an early evening of celebration, performances, and fun for all ages.

The Providence Tourism Council, the City of Providence and Mayor Brett P. Smiley are thrilled to announce the return of citywide New Year’s Eve celebration with the Illuminate PVD Fireworks at the 195 District Park and the Michael Van Leesten Pedestrian Bridge on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Join us for an early start to ring in the new year, where festivities will illuminate the night from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. A beverage garden serve drinks to the 21+ crowd in a heated tent while food trucks serve up delicious eats. The party will groove right up to the fireworks display with local musicians, a 360 Photo Booth, and a DJ spinning tunes all night.

As part of the Starts at Sunset and Illuminate PVD programming, WaterFire Providence will be lighting braziers surrounding the pedestrian bridge, starting at 5:30 p.m., setting the stage for the Providence Tourism Council’s Illuminate PVD Fireworks show at 8:30 p.m. sharp. The 195 District Park and the Michael Van Leesten Pedestrian Bridge offers the perfect vantage point, providing views of the fireworks on the Providence River.

5:30 pm – WaterFire’s Starts At Sunset Activation, artists, roaming musicians and entertainment
8:30 pm – Illuminate PVD Fireworks show
9:00 pm – Official programming ends and enjoy the many happenings at local Providence establishments
