Congrats to @wrwc_ri on the completion of the bike path extension — now you can bike all the way from Johnston to Downtown Providence (under a secret passageway though the mall!) on protected bike lanes.
Along the way you’ll find public art, a storm water garden, and a kayak launch.
We loved learning more of the history of the area, including a century-old planned but unrealized fruit market right where @farmfreshri now stands, and the factories that produced rubber molds for the jewelry industry you might still find lying at the bottom of the river!
A great day to celebrate Providence’s past, present and future.
This is what a King Tide looks like on the Riverwalk!
@providenceplanning has developed the Riverwalk Resilience Project to plan for a future when this flooding happens more than a few times a year.
We are excited to learn more about the project at the @growsmartri summit next week.

Hot dang it’s hot out here but the PVD Fan Zone it open and looks amazing!
Pro-tip: there is a clear bag policy but you can bring a water bottle, and there is a water refilling station inside the Fan Zone.
