Providence Children’s Museum – Cultural Connections with the Tomaquag Museum
Saturday, November 8, 2025
Games not only entertain, they teach valuable skills, build community, and can even be a way to commune with the spirit world. Learn more about the importance of game play in Indigenous communities and how these traditions are still upheld today. Play a traditional bowl game, Hubbub, and make your own to take home! The Tomaquag Museum was established in 1958 and is Rhode Island’s only museum dedicated to telling the story of the state’s Indigenous peoples. Through multiple programs, the museum shares Native perspectives on traditional health and wellbeing, education, history, technologies, culture, and the Indigenous arts.
