La Dama Boba

La Dama Boba, a 400-year-old masterpiece from the Spanish Golden Age, is a genre-defying, ironic comedy about two sisters engaged to be married but in love with the same man; one sister is educated and the other, foolish. To compensate for her simplicity, the "foolish" lady has a larger attribute that attracts the attention of her sister’s fiancé: a poor nobleman. When the two suitors decide to exchange potential wives, chaos prevails. However, the "foolish" lady turns out not to be so simple after all. Lope de Vega is one of Spain’s most prolific writers. He is second only to Cervantes in importance during the Golden Age of Spanish literature.
