Julian Zabalbeascoa's "What We Tried to Bury Grows Here"

Join us at Symposium Books on Monday, November 18th (4:30pm), when Julian Zabalbeascoa speaks on his new novel, “What We Tried to Bury Grows Here”. This moving story is set during the Spanish Civil War, following the narrative of a young protagonist who is spurred to action by the words of a local politcal essayist. The tale is called “beautiful and horrific” in its honesty.

Julian will be in conversation with Sebastian Stockman, an English professor at the College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Sebastian is an author of essays and criticism himself.

Julian is currently a professor at UMass Lowell, and leads many study abroad programs that inspire his literary accomplishments. Post-discussion, Julian and Sebastian will engage in a Q&A with the audience and sign copies of “What We Tried to Bury Grows Here”.
